Barcelona star striker, Luis Suarez has said that a new contract with Barcelona is in the works and might be completed in no distant time.

Suarez is looking forward to a renewal of his contract with the Camp Nou dwellers and hopes to keep on playing with the El Classico giants for as long as possible. Suarez’s former deal with Barcelona was to expire by the middle of 2019, but with reports on ground, the striker might continue to stay on with the Luis Enrique's side for two or three more seasons.

The 29 year old striker, who had made the move to Barcelona from Liverpool in 2015, has said that he is very much excited to continue on with his career at Camp Nou.

Suarez, who was in International duty with his country, Uruguay recently had said during a news conference on Tuesday that he is looking forward to the new contract. His words,

"I look forward to helping my team with goals. The contract renewal with Barcelona is on track. I want to continue at the club, winning titles."

So far, Suarez has won a couple of titles and cups with Barca which includes two La Liga crowns, a Champions League title and two Copa delReys.

The Uruguayan was recently linked with a pending move to English club, Manchester United and reports claimed that Jose Mourinho's side were prepared to part with no less than €150 million in a bid to get him down to their end.

However, Suarez who won the Pichichi award for last season, after coming off as the highest goal scorer in La Liga might not be making a move away from Barca soon. Josep Maria, president at Barcelona, has said that his star striker would not be heading out of the club in the nearest future.
