Ajax Amsterdam manager Erik Ten Hag is the new favourite for the Barcelona job which is currently occupied by Dutch tactician Ronald Koeman. The new development involving Ten Hag was revealed by Catalonia Radio. It was stated that the Ajax boss is being considered as the man to replace Koeman in the Barcelona dugout.

A lot of names have been linked with the Barcelona job in the past days and weeks including the usual suspects like club legend Xavi Hernandez and Roberto Martinez. Big names such as Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel, Liverpool boss JurgenKlopp and a few surprises such as Andrea Pirlo and Oscar Garcia have also been mentioned in the media as regards the Barcelona job.

Ajax manager Erik Ten Hag has a good track record for developing young players and the current Barcelona squad has a lot of players who are at the start of their football careers. Barcelona first team players such as AnsuFati, Gavi, Ronald Araujo, Pedri, SerginoDest, Yusuf Demir and Oscar Mingueza are just starting their professional football careers. Ten Hag could be the man to take the aforementioned young players to the next level at Barcelona if he decides to leave Ajax Amsterdam for the Catalan giants.
Ten Hag was on the Barcelona managerial shortlist when QuiqueSetien was sacked but the club opted for Koeman. The Ajax Amsterdam manager has done a very good job during his time with the Dutch champions. He led Ajax Amsterdam to the semi-finals of the UEFA Champions League against all odds during the 2018/19 season. In addition, he has won the league title in each of the last two seasons. Ten Hag and Ajax Amsterdam have started this season's Champions League campaign well with two wins from two group stage games, netting seven times and conceding just once.
