MESSI STILL HAS NIGHTMARES

The Barcelona striker Lionel Messi has said that he is still worrying about the penalty miss he suffered in the semi-finals of the Champions League against Chelsea. It was one of the incredible seasons for Chelsea after they managed to lift the first Champions League title of their history.

It is something that could have easily not happened had Lionel Messi scored a penalty in the second half in the return leg at the Camp Nou. The 25-year-old Argentine ace is known for his exceptional record when it comes to scoring in penalties. However, he hit the bar in the second half against Chelsea.

This ultimately proved to be the decisive moment of the match, as it gave Chelsea the confidence that they can see out of the rest of the match. Chelsea were playing with only 10 men on the pitch after captain John Terry was sent off in the first half. A goal from Sergio Busquets had earlier equalised the tie, while Iniesta scored the second goal to put Barcelona ahead on aggregate. However, a stunning goal from Ramires soon after the goal from Iniesta gave Chelsea the confidence. Finally, they achieved unbelievable by going through 3-2 on aggregate.

"I am still hurting from losing the semi-final against Chelsea with the penalty I missed, and La Liga with the defeat to Madrid at Nou Camp. They are both thorns in our side. But last season is now history. It's a fresh start for us all. We have to prepare ourselves as best we can for what will be a tough season. I hope we can get back to winning everything again," said Lionel Messi. Despite the heartbreak, it was an exceptional season for the Argentine ace. He scored 73 goals in all competitions for Barcelona last season, which is a record.
